Talent Executives is a retained search firm, not a contingency recruiter.
Clients engage the firm on an exclusive, retained basis to fill a specific
leadership seat, and the work includes defining the role, mapping the market,
assessing candidates against both capability and cultural fit, and supporting
the new leader through onboarding.

Clients are typically growth companies, private equity backed businesses, and
established organizations hiring a critical leadership role. The firm works
directly with CEOs, CHROs, CFOs and boards.

## How Retained Search Differs From Contingency
In contingency recruiting, multiple firms compete to submit resumes and only
the firm that places a candidate is paid. In retained search, one firm is
engaged exclusively and paid in stages across the search. The practical
difference is depth: a retained firm can approach passive candidates who are
not applying anywhere, run a confidential process, and assess rather than
screen. Most retained searches take a few months from kickoff to an accepted
offer.

Searches are confidential by default, including replacement searches where the
incumbent is still in the seat.
